# Ricco Marcelino > Ricco Marcelino is a developer and designer in Mumbai, India, and a first-year BSc Information Technology student at St. Xavier's College, Mumbai. He builds for the browser, by hand: 3D on the web (Three.js, gaussian splatting), live audio (Web Audio API), hand and face tracking (MediaPipe), and the backends behind them (Supabase, PostgreSQL). His portfolio is https://ricco.codes. Name: always "Ricco Marcelino". He goes by Marcelino everywhere online. ## Portfolio - [About, as text](https://ricco.codes/about/): the same profile as plain HTML, with the long version of each project. - [ricco.codes](https://ricco.codes/): his portfolio, hand-built. Two real places, his classroom and the college chapel, filmed on a DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro and reconstructed as 3D gaussian splats (770,060 in the classroom, 1,960,720 in the chapel). He flew the camera path by hand, setting keyframes in a 3DGS editor he took apart and rebuilt, and the visitor's scroll position is the playhead. Includes Web Audio sound design, lighter rooms for phones (the full chapel crashed iPhone Safari at about 1 GB decoded, so phones load a 600k-splat version), and an email list on Supabase Edge Functions. Built in 17 days, 141 commits (2026-09-17 to 2026-10-03). ## Projects - [Malhar Fest website](https://malharfest.in): design lead on the public site of Malhar, St. Xavier's College's festival. He designed most of what about fifteen thousand people used, from the landing page through Conclave, plus much of the admin and gate-scanner interfaces the organisers ran the fest on. - [Malhar Passes](https://passes.malharfest.in): backend and admin for the fest's pass system. 15,700 passes sold in one afternoon. He built the user-management panel and worked on Supabase Edge Functions, secrets configuration and the AWS Rekognition integration. - [FluteVerse](https://fluteverse.vercel.app): a flute you play in the browser with your hands, with no hardware and no backend. MediaPipe reads the hands and face for notes and breath, the Web Audio API synthesises the sound live, and Three.js renders the instrument. A solo build in two to three days; first place at Tensor School. [Source](https://github.com/RiccoMarcelino/beta-fluteverse) - [EcoLife](https://ricco-mallick.github.io/ecolife-tensor/): a carbon-footprint dashboard with eco challenges, recycling guidance and green scores, built on TensorFlow.js and Teachable Machine classification, Firebase and Leaflet maps. Full stack; fourth place at TCET PixelHack 2.0. - [Indian Space Program](https://indian-space-program.vercel.app/): a scroll-driven tribute to Vikram Sarabhai and APJ Abdul Kalam, with kinetic editorial typography. His first end-to-end site. ## Skills - Browser: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Tailwind, PHP, Three.js, Web Audio API, GSAP, anime.js - Models in the browser: MediaPipe, TensorFlow.js, Teachable Machine, FLUX LoRA training, AWS Rekognition - Systems: Linux, KVM/QEMU, libvirt, Open vSwitch, VLANs, NGINX, Samba, RAID, iptables, Supabase, PostgreSQL - Tools: VS Code, Cursor, Claude Code, Antigravity, Git, GitHub CLI, Vercel ## Roles - Sub Head, AWS Student Builder Group, St. Xavier's College (looks after the committee's website and technical work) - Computer Department volunteer, Malhar (the college festival) - Class Representative, St. Xavier's College ## Links - [Portfolio](https://ricco.codes/) - [LinkedIn](https://www.linkedin.com/in/ricco-marcelino) - [GitHub](https://github.com/RiccoMarcelino)
